A Legacy of Hope

For over a decade, Paul and Ann Milburn have been loyal supporters of Children’s Hospital Foundation. By donating $500,000 to establish a research program in pediatric surgery, $500,000 gift to establish a program in kidney diseases research, and $500,000 to establish a program in childhood diabetes, they are helping to support a cause that is close to their hearts.

“As a parent, learning your child is severely ill is devastating,” said Paul Milburn. “You never expect it and you never think it can happen to you. That’s why supporting Children’s Hospital Foundation is so important. By doing so, you are ensuring that the children and their families who rely on the expertise of the specialists know they are getting the very best care.”

KXY 96.1
Broadcasting Inspiration

Every year in November, 96.1 KXY Clear Channel Radio hosts the KXY Loves Kids Radiothon to help raise money for Oklahoma’s kids. The deejays go on-air for three days straight interviewing “miracle” kids, doctors and community leaders who have benefitted from Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Over $700,000 has been raised because of the continuous support of KXY listeners. Radio hosts Dan Stroud, Bill Reed, Patti Garrett and Tom Travis have helped open hearts and minds of their listeners through Oklahoma stories of hope and miracles.

“We truly believe that everyone in Oklahoma has been touched in some way by Children’s Hospital Foundation whether it’s a family member, friend or neighbor,” said Bill Reed, co-host of the Bill, Pattie & Dan Morning Show. “Everyone in the state has known someone that has been treated at our children’s hospital. That is why we give and continue to inspire our listeners to generously give.”

Greg & Theresa Beverage
An Everyday Miracle

For the past five years, Greg and Theresa Beverage have been devoted Kids Club Members and given $15.00 a month to support research and cures in Oklahoma.

When Greg and Theresa Beverage’s son, Jayse was born in 2001, they were ecstatic to be parents. Jayse appeared to be a perfectly normal thriving baby. When Jayse was just 15 days old, he tested positive for Phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare genetic disorder that can affect his brain and result in mental retardation if his diet consists of protein rich foods. Jayse is now 8 years old and doesn’t let his eating habits get in the way of his everyday life. He plays baseball, rides his four-wheeler and plays with his dog, Lexxi.

“The specialized care and treatment that Jayse is able to receive keeps me believing in Children’s Hospital Foundation,” said Theresa Beverage. “There are diseases like PKU that can affect any child, and I will continue to give to support the doctors who will one day find a cure.”
