Dancing For a Miracle a HUGE Success

Local celebrities put on their dancing shoes for the 2011 Dancing for a Miracle gala on Saturday, August 6 at the Oklahoma City Marriott. The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals event benefiting Children’s Hospital Foundation raised over $143,000. Competitors included T.J. Brown, KJ 103 Radio Personality; Joey Combs, Wild 104.9 Radio Personality; Joe Dorman, Oklahoma House of Representatives; Jeff George, Fox 25 Meteorologist; Lacey Payne, Miracle Mom; Jaclyn Schultz, Fox 25 Reporter; Diane Stockton, Co-Owner of Northwest Building Supply; Jessi Stone, the defending “2010 Dancing for a Miracle Star” and Magic 104.1 Radio Personality; Taylor Treat-Burget, Miss Oklahoma 2009; and Dave Willis, EVP/COO of Tinker Federal Credit Union.

The evening began with cocktails and a silent auction. Guests enjoyed dinner and a dance competition produced by Harpe’s Dance, Inc. Celebrities teamed up with professional dancers to compete for the title of 2011 Dancing for a Miracle Star. The winner with over $36,000 donated to CMN Hospitals was Diane Stockton. She and her partner Darren Fernandez danced a Samba to “Jazz Machine.” The People’s Choice Award also went to Stockton for obtaining the most votes and donations the night of the event. Second place went to Dave Willis and Lacey Payne took away the third place medal.  Special entertainment was provided by Tommy Cunningham, Actor and Vocal Performer, Lee and Marcy Harpe, owners of Harpe’s Dance, Inc., and Betty Thompson, Miss Oklahoma 2011.
