Children's Hospital Foundation (Caring for Oklahoma's Children)

The stars aligned at the Children’s Celebrity Starlight Ball on Thursday, April 29, 2010 to support Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Celebrities who came to show their support for CHF were basketball star Blake Griffin, actor Rex Linn, OU football star Brian Bosworth, actor Ryan Merriman, actor Barry Corbin and NASA Astronaut Charlie Dry.

The event was held at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, and the club has never seen such dynamic decor.  Eventures’ Mary Ellen Alexander completely remade the country club into a dazzling paradise.

The event gave friends and supporters of CHF the opportunity to join together to support children’s health in Oklahoma.  Children’s Hospital Foundation raises money to support pediatric research, education and clinical care.  All funds raised through CHF stay in Oklahoma so children can have exceptional pediatric specialists without having to leave the State.

“It is a tremendous honor for Jeanetta and I to be a part of this year’s Children’s Celebrity Starlight Ball,” said Everett Dobson, Children’s Celebrity Starlight Ball Event Chair.  “We hope to raise awareness for Children’s Hospital Foundation that benefits all children in Oklahoma today and many years to come.”

The evening began with cocktails served from the “Startini Bar” and the Ruth Meyers Style Show.  Rumble, the Thunder’s fun loving mascot, made an appearance during the fashion show to check out the hottest looks.  Miracle Child William and Brian Bosworth greeted the crowd.  Rex Linn performed a skit impersonating Brian Bosworth during Wednesday’s Boz Hogz Rally.

Live and silent auctions, dinner and dancing to the “Think Big Band” rounded out the evening.

The next Children’s Celebrity Starlight Ball is scheduled for November 30, 2012
