The Children’s Miracle Network Telecast on Sunday, June 6 will air on KOCO TV-5. The telecast features children who have been supported by Children’s Miracle Network and recognized sponsors for their hard work for raising money that will be used to fund research for pediatric illnesses.
The Presbyterian Health Foundation Conference Center will host the live event to benefit Children’s Hospital Foundation. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the public is invited to come and make personal donations during the telecast, take a carriage ride from the Oklahoma Carriage Company and enjoy free ice cream from Schwan’s.
Also, the Kiwanis Miracle Mile of Quarters will be on display outside the Presbyterian Health Foundation Research Park. The coins will be lines up on the sidewalk on a paper strand equaling one mile. Quarters may be dropped off in the parking lot of the Pavilion, Building 825 on the day of the event.
KOCO Anchors Jessica Schambach, Paul Folger, Rick Mitchell, Mat Garcia, Anita Blanton and Daniel Holdge will host the broadcast and 96.1 KXY deejays Bill Reed, Dan Stroud, Pattie Garrett and Tom Travis will co-hosted the last hour of the live telecast. Miracle kids, CHF physician-researchers and community volunteers will be featured during the event.
Viewers will hear stories of courageous children whose lives were changed dramatically by an illness or injury, and how Children’s Hospital Foundation and Children’s Miracle Network allowed them to stay in Oklahoma to receive the best care.
Children’s Hospital Foundation, an affiliate of Children’s Miracle Network has established itself as a guardian of children’s health by raising money to transform the health of Oklahoma’s children. All funds raised through CHF will stay in Oklahoma so children will have access to exceptional pediatric specialists without having to leave the State.
The national Children’s Miracle Network celebration portion of the telecast airs from Orlando, Florida and will be hosted by CMN Co-founder Marie Osmond.
