Miracle Makers Dinner
Children’s Hospital Foundation celebrated its 25th anniversary and honored its Miracle Makers on September 26, 2007 during the Miracle Makers Awards Banquet at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.
The special night was a chance for Children’s Hospital Foundation to pay tribute to the individuals who have led Children’s Hospital Foundation to new heights because of their kindness, generosity and visionary efforts to create a better Oklahoma for our children.
University of Oklahoma President David L. Boren was this year’s keynote speaker and talked about the importance of continuing to raise funds for research and Children’s Hospital Foundation’s endowed chair program.
Another special guest for the evening was Lauren Nelson, Miss America 2007. Lauren, an Oklahoma native, spoke how “Miracle Children” have impacted her since serving as the National Goodwill Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network.
The 25th anniversary celebration concluded with awards being given to all the “Miracle Makers” who have made a difference for Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Four awards were given on behalf of Children’s Hospital Foundation: Stanton L. Young, who received the Founders Award; Clear Channel Radio, 96.1 KXY, which received the Corporate Champion Award; Bobby and Kay Murcer, who received the Volunteer Champion Award; and Emil Stratton, M.D., beloved pediatrician, from Muskogee who received the Professional Champion Award posthumously.
